Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then located many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism left him speechless and required to be addressed quickly.
"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
